Bidri, a dying craft has been rediscovered to find a new place in contemporary aesthetics. Bidri is created by casting an alloy of copper and zinc; hand etching designs into the metal and inlaying silver foil or wire into the grooves. It is then washed and boiled in sand from the Bidar fort which magically imparts the dark color against which the resplendent silver majestically stands out. The coffee tables stand out in the pastel design scheme with its glistening silver mandala motifs bringing in the traditional aspect in the modern setting.
