This sprawling penthouse makes 'views' take on a yogic dimension of 'instant meditation'. This home transcends age, time, form and material to be a hermitage in the sky.
A two-tiered pent-house that is an abode in the heavens due to the views and our point of view. Stretched to its extremeties by our visual and spatial magnification, this home is one in which heart and art will eternally reside.
"The 'toilet' is inarguably the most private space there is. It is within these confines that we give flight to the inner being. The boundaries of life and the liberation of the space are symbolically reflected in a concept wherein the design provokes an intellectual investigation of the space we commonly call the 'toilet'.
It is here that we uncloak not merely in the physical. It is a profoundly spiritual space, and this design gives it the monastic reverence it deserves. Fulcrum Studio showcased the sanctity of the space which was realized in a meticulous palette of austere grey offset with the luxuriance of burnished copper. While the elements are maintained in a bare rustic form, the construct is nothing short of being pristine or even immaculate. Textures are layered to conceal and reveal, to be seen and to feel; the lighting itself a component not exclusive to facilitate function, but a function of the aesthetic experience in itself.
A 3 floor dwelling with the interior architecture and design reflecting an amalgamation of two worlds - the current and contemporary crossing over to our Indian heritage which makes us who we are. The use of beaten silver tables, concave mirror handcraft and a stunning ‘opening up’ of vistas and spaces creates an enchantment of space and ornament.
Husna's creativity, energy, and passion knows no bounds. She
and her team immerse themselves in the project giving it their
all and at times leaving us wanting more. Their demand for
perfection in design, execution, lighting etc is unparalleled.
I have enjoyed working with them on my dream home.
Thanks Fulcrum.

This project drew on our versatality to create architecture and interior design for a family comprising the distinguished parents and their four sons. Hence, each floor was designed specifically for the occupants, therefore the ‘experience’ of every floor is dissimilar to the other and yet a united and unified story is told.
"It's real a pleasure working with Fulcrum. They are really thorough and refreshingly different. In fact Husna has though us what thinking out of the box really means architecturally! And now that we have been exposed to her brand of doing things I don't think we can be satisfied with the other run of the mill stuff. She is not just giving us a new house she is ushering in a whole new Lifestyle.
A special word of mention to her extremely capable and responsive staff!!"

The incredible spatial articulation of this project allows the elements
without to reside within. A feeling of living in the ‘by beyond’ is a constant
experience. A stunning water feature and central county bathe the spaces
in renewed energy.
Elegant and restrained , this project is destined for eternity.

This majestic structure houses an interplay of volumes and details that entrance and enthrall a ‘complete experience’. Every detail and space reflects a holistic vision towards design. A three level home for a single family, the poddar home is a fulcrum signature of style and substance.
"True to it's name, "Fulcrum" of Husna Rahaman is on a solid foundation.
modern Designing, effective coordination, pleasent and friendly deliberations
and a thorough professional attitude is synonymous with fulcrum. Husna
having studied and gained immense designing experience from New York
university, one is pleasently shocked to see the ease and comfort with which
the home builder's ideas and requirements are taken seriously, deliberated
and fused within the final drawings.
Working with Fulcrum is surely an enjoyable experience and in the course
of a professional friendship the professionalism is mutually sidelined and
what remains is a lasting friendship! This is all possible due to a very positive
attitude to thrive for excellence and to geniunely believe in team work.

‘Kasbah’ means a magical home erupting from the ground and my
home is a testimony of the emotional power of a home to decompress
and tranquilize.
A pent-house of 3 woven levels the play of light and shadow, mind
and body, sunlight and moonlight and creates a tantalizing tango.
real and surreal.
A flight into a space rarefied, this home knows no boundaries. A ‘sculpture within a function’, this home is an artistic jewel which only gets better with the passage of time. Words fail and images assist, however only a viewing can do it justice.
the house has turned out to be everything that we wanted-a
home full of character, contemporary but yet in many ways
quiet traditional and sophisticated with a touch of
handmade. I must say,Husna and her entire team is passionate
and proud of what they do but are still very understanding
of the needs of the people that they design and build the
home for.

A ‘model’home which is a true role model. This development created a canvasfor the builder to make a statement about quality of thought and space.
Expansion of space with our interior architecture created a largeness and openness quite beguiling.
When we entrusted Husna with this task they did justice to it. Their contemporary design and space planning not just elevated the quality of life at Olympia Enchante but added soul to the aesthetics much above our expectations. I would sum up my experience with Husna on our project of Enchante as "Enchanting".

A place which we transformed into a 'space', a modest duplex which we made
regal with art and heart.
This home with its surprises , surpasses the apartment experience and puts it
into the realm of 'sprawling bungalow'.
This home is a modern palace which reflects a new age philosophy combined
with a palatial sensibility.
the recurring philosophy of surrender to a higher experience resonates
through the space.
A penthouse that makes love to the sky, this home is a ‘floating island’ that lifts you to the heavens. Perched on the 16th floor, we amplified the vistas and heights to create a magnificence that demands reverence. you are on hallowed ground.
"We are deeply impressed with the vision and creativity and their passion to create landmarks. Their unique style of creating exclusive masterpieces makes them outstanding designers."

This is furniture design that truly delves deep into the intellectual sea of 'reinvention and regeneration'. It combines pure modern form of a single sleek curve which sits on a pebble shaped wooden base with majestic embellished silver. The sleek curve wears this silver skin like a snug jacket and rests on the dark wooden pebble....and then to truly spin the mind we spin the body as well. A kinetic experience is made possible by creating a 360 degree swivel. The true splendour of the kinetic motion as it captures the beauty of form and lustre of silver is best viewed in the video attached.
The two basins (his and hers) have a geometric pattern of stone and ss metal tessellation, handcut and engineered to look sculptural. The internal framework is done in granite. The plumbing is engineered into the basin discreetly for the form to look monolithic. A bath story is created by the use of brass sections to support the mirror and storage beside the basins, thereby creating a complete story of sculpted basins with the environment behind and around to work holistically.
Zari (metal) has been woven into indian fabric for centuries. We update the idea in the 21st century 'gen next'. We have woven two shades of green silk with pliable copper and the result is a stunning and artful rendition of colour, pattern and confluence of 'never before seen' material. Ideal for panels within screens, entire wall panelling, punctuations between curtains, the options are limitless. It adds the 'electric, ecclectic and esoteric' component into fabric.
Resurrecting the past and making it ‘here and now’ we worked with a languishing group of craftsmen from bidar, karnataka who were abandoning their craft due to increasing irrelevance in the modern age, we put this craft in a modern context and brought its awareness into centre stage. Bidri is created by casting an alloy of copper and zinc, hand etching designs into the metal and inlaying silver foil or wire into the grooves. The design works with a gradation of circular motifs of pure silver, making a piece of art with a compelling story of india's fading and forgotten art and artisans.
Bidri, a dying craft has been rediscovered to find a new place in contemporary aesthetics. Bidri is created by casting an alloy of copper and zinc; hand etching designs into the metal and inlaying silver foil or wire into the grooves. It is then washed and boiled in sand from the bidar fort which magically imparts the dark color against which the resplendent silver majestically stands out. The coffee tables stand out in the pastel design scheme with its glistening silver mandala motifs bringing in the traditional aspect in the modern setting.
Exquisite fabric panels are punctuated between striated and pleated curtains. The circular motif is articulated in threads, metallic tubes and beads. Zari work is also added to a few concentric rings. It is elegantly draped on modern metal hangers from the ceiling at varying heights. The circular motif varies in degree and intensity and scattered artfully on the fabric. The colours and textures are monochromatic but stunningly diverse and displays handcraft to its extreme. The circular motif picks up the surrounding geometry of circular tables in white and bidri silver inlay.
The 'modern princess' bed comes alive in this contemporary fairytale. The studio designed four poster silver bed wrapped in crushed powder blue fabric with crocheted edges. The bed in itself has a customised headboard of three striped colours used aesthetically on two sides so there is no one focal point headboard and hence looks more like a daybed. The bedcover and cushions are quilted, embroidered and crocheted. The curtains are dense and pleated with dainty crocheted tie backs which continue the 'dream theme'. A sophisticated palette of high detail fabric and embellishment for the princess with sneakers and a backpack.
How complex can simplicity be? We took the cleanest form and wrapped a series of exotic and 'rarely put together' materials. Dark mother of pearl with lustrous copper, add a twist of white marble and a 'dash' of mild steel. Then shake them up and vary the recipe in each table but use the same four ingredients. The result- a very modern but deeply seductive cocktail of form, colour, texture and material.
A very simple form in brass albiet with provocative pattern is inspired by the british colonial flooring tiles found in the ever vanishing heritage homes. The table tops combine 'marble and wood' in full bodied geometric patterns. There are two kinds of wood- walnut and teak in an intricate inlay which in turn combines with pristine white marble. An unusual combination of materials and patterns on very clean frames of brass and mild steel. A modern ode to our colonial past.
This intense geometric design combines three soft colours of stone and triangular sprinkles of stainless steel. The 'mirror' effect as one traverses the space is enchanting as the steel bounces off light creating surprising bursts of dazzle. A feat of challenging craftsmanship and sublime design under one's feet. A truly majestic environment for the bed and seater.
He marble and mirror niche is 'a jewel box' of creativity and materials taking 'pattern' into the realm of 'multipatterned' shapes and colour, the result is a sensory and sensuous experience which requires a few moments of contemplative silence to dialogue with. It comprises four shades and kinds of marble with pieces of mirror to create decorative jewellery which defies definition. Handworked patterned splendour taken to its dazzling zenith.
Copper, brass, mild and stainless steel are in perfect luminious union as the mettalic lustre warms hearts and lights up minds. A cluster of vertical spheres and rings articulated in a rhythm of varying heights and proportions creates a 'modern chandelier' that breaks out of the traditional mould and walks boldly into the realm of 'decor jewellery' having been inspired by the artform of tribal jewellery. Lights are concealed within the metal form so that the radiant quality of metal dazzles the room.
This was a zealous studio design experiment to modernise, even ‘bastardise’ the ‘oh so pretty’ but predictable moroccan tile work. An arresting and unusual palette of 'concrete and brass'was elected to interpret the‘appearance and disappearance of brasswork inlaid into the concrete. The result..the creation of a new generation genetic mutation of a classic idea. It is a cool hip hop version of a classic melody.
The sofa is a three material confluence - highly detailed silver, dark walnut wood and blue lustrous fabric.the silver layer is the bottom most and cusps the wooden layer which in turn grips the fabric. Clean lines, exquisite materials and modern symphony of using 'scarcely seen' indian craft of silver work and creating modern elegance in a contemporary context.
